Press seam allowances of even-numbered rows in one direction; press seam allowances of odd-numbered rows in the opposite direction. Sew the rows together to complete the quilt top. Each block should measure 10½” × 10½” (27cm × 27cm). Make sixteen blocks for the small quilt or forty-eight for the twin quilt. ASSEMBLE AND FINISH THE QUILT 1 Arrange the blocks in any design that you like, either symmetrically or randomly. It may help to lay them out on a bed or on the floor. 2 For the small quilt, sew the blocks into four rows of four blocks. For the twin quilt, sew the blocks into eight rows of six blocks. Press seam allowances of even-numbered rows in one direction; press seam allowances of odd-numbered rows in the opposite direction.
